# Why We Chose Stability Before Adding More Features
There is always another feature that could be added to a SaaS product.
Humzio grew across people management, leave, reporting, lifecycle workflows, billing, administration and other HR operations. At that point, continuing to add surface area would also increase the number of interactions that needed to remain reliable.
Stability is product development
A stability phase creates space to fix inconsistent behavior, strengthen tests, simplify user flows, improve copy, review permissions and resolve edge cases across existing features.
It also gives the team a stronger baseline before introducing larger capabilities.
The lesson
Feature velocity is not the same as product progress. At the right stage, reducing uncertainty in what already exists can create more customer value than expanding the feature list.
